Good Things Come To Those Who Wait
You know, one of the hardest things for me to do is wait. I like to get things done and get them done fast. But I’m learning to have more patience. I have a project going that I would really loved to have luanched two weeks ago. When I first got into the internet business scene, I would have just built a site and threw it up on the web real quick. I’ve come to realize that the more you rush things the less professional your project turns out.
With this specific project, I thought I was done yesterday until I got 4-5 people to review my site. About a week ago, I placed my site up for review in a couple of forums. I got some feedback and made some changes to the site. Yesterday I paid a few people a small amount of money or offered them something in exchange to review my site. Let me tell you, you get a lot better reviews when you are paying people then when you ask them to do it for free. What I thought was ready to launch wasn’t even close. Come to find out, I was having problems with some areas of th site with different browsers. And one of the biggest comments I got was I need more information or help articles to help ease users through the site. So, it’s back to the drawing board. But the main thing is at least I’m not rushing to luanch this thing when it isn’t even 100% ready. Potential site user can be scared away by a frustrating site. I want my site to run with ease and to be a real resource to users.
It is always good to get as many reviews as possible for your site before you launch it. There were things that the site reviewers saw that I didn’t see. Or things that I saw, but thought weren’t a big deal that I found out were a big deal to the user. Also by having people review your site, you are getting your site in front of a few people that when it actually luanches they will remember your site because the were a part of helping get it luanched. Getting reviews and taking the time to make sure the site turns out the way I want it takes time, but the finished product will be something worth being proud of.

It’s better to hold off launching a website until you get all the kinks straightened out. You don’t want to frusterate your customer with invalid links!
