My Blog Log

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I just installed My Blog Log on my site. It is pretty interesting. My Blog Log can help you build a stronger community on your blog since it is made up of a huge community of bloggers. You can see the badge in my nav bar. It tells you who the most recent readers are. You have to join My Blog Log in order for your pic to show up. Once you join you can be a part of other communities. These communities can really help bring some traffic to your site. It’s also cool to see who’s reading your blog.

I’ve seen a lot of blogs with the recent reader badge from My Blog Log and always wondered what it was, but never checked into it. Today my curosity pushed me into investigation mode. It’s a pretty sweet tool so far that I can tell.  If you read my blog, please show your support by joining my community.  :)

The Webpuffs Network

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

I started another new site.  This site is kind of a sister site of Webpuffs.com.  It’s actually called Webpuffs.net.  I decided it would be better to release WordPress themes from that site instead of on this one since this site is so crowded with other stuff.  I’ll keep you updated every time I create a new theme.  (I just created one this last weekend, so check it out when you get a chance.)

Right now, Webpuffs.net has the default theme.  I haven’t decided where to go with the look of that site.  I’m not for sure if I even like the design for this site.  It is too default looking.  Who knows, maybe I’ll redesign this one and the two will look exactly the same or very similar.  Please share your opinion.  What do you think about my current Webpuffs design?

Forum Billboards

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

If you spend any time driving on the interstate, you’ve seen many of them. They some times make you laugh. They some times tick you off. And sometimes you completely ignore them. They are billboards. Companies spend a lot of money to get your attention when you are driving down the road. What if there was some way to have billboards on the internet? What if there was some way to have a billboard on the internet and it didn’t cost a thing?

Avatars are every where in forums. People have used their avatars for advertising space probably since the invention of the internet and forums. But it seems that recently, in the last few months an avatar craze has been taking place. People have been using their avatars like billboards in forums. In most cases having the avatar as an advertising space is absolutely free as long as the avatar space belongs to you. You can find a lot of people in the digital point forum that have been buying and selling their avatar spaces.

Here are a few avatars (forum billboards) that you may have seen around:

I started using my avatar on a couple of forums and have even bought an avatar space. I’ve seen an increase in searches for “web puffs” in my stats. This could be from my avatar advertising, or it could be previous visitors who remembered the name, but not the url to my site. There’s no way to really track the succes of the avatar, but hey, if you have avatar space, use it as your billboard. Turn some heads. :)

Two Cool Sites

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Site number one, Webhostingunleashed.com, I just recently found out about. It is an awesome place to find reviews on hosting companies. After looking through some of the hosting companies that they give reviews on, it makes me think twice about my hosting provider. I really love my hosting provider, but they don’t give me some of the options that some of the hosts I found on Webhostingunleashed.com.

Cool site number two, qualitytrafficsupply.com, this company offers guaranteed traffic. With Google Adwords you pay per click, but with this company, you pay for a certain amount of visitors. Their starting price is 5,000 visitors for $30. I haven’t tried them out yet, but I might just to experiment. Have any of you used Quality Traffic Supply? Was it worth what you paid?

Made Money Off Amazon Accidently

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

The other day I was checking around to see if I possibly had some earnings from some affiliate stuff that I signed up for in the past. I found out I made $9.02 this last quarter from four sales at Amazon.

A while back, I set up an Amazon store using Associate-O-Matic. The funny thing is that I haven’t promoted it at all. I decided to link to the store from my blog roll, maybe I can get a few more visitors to the store. Really, I have so many irons in the fire that I don’t want to put too much effort into the store. When I started the store half of my intention was just to do it to give my readers an example of what they can make money off of. I was just amazed that I made anything off of it. :)

Quick Blurb About Adsense

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

The other day I couldn’t log into my Adsense account because the Adsense site was down. It seems like every time the Adsense site is down, even if it is for a very short time, my earning seem to decrease for 2-3 days afterwards. Is it me? Or do other people experience this same thing?
