CS Cart Review

In my last post I gave a review of the open source Magento cart.  CS Cart is a paid cart.  It costs $200.  In my opinion, it worth a lot more than $200.  I have an ecommerce site that has been in bad need of an upgrade.  One of my greatest fears, was if I upgraded to a different cart, my urls would change and then I would lose traffic.  Well, I found CS Cart.   You can rename the urls whatever you need to.  CS Cart is very user friendly.  My wife has been inputting a lot of our products.  She has probably done most of the work.  :)  With my old site, she would tell me things that needed to be changed, and then I would change them when ever I got around to it.  Sometimes I just never got around to it.  With CS Cart she can edit and add stuff easily.  If I were to rate CS Cart on some of it’s features, I would give it the below rating.  This is on a scale from 1 - 10.  10 being the highest.

SEO 10

Customer Service 10

Ease of use 10 (I’ve found CS Cart to be easier to use than OS Commerce for sure.)

I’m really loving CS Cart.

So how do you think this stacks up against Magento? I’ve got a client now wanting me to do some customizations in Magento, so I’m studying it right now. I do, however, want to keep in mind what package would be the most convenient for me in the future, however, for my own personal projects, or if a customer doesn’t know or care about what shopping cart to use.

I’m loving CS Cart. CS Cart is easy to use. I could never seem to get Magento to work right. I think CS Cart would be more user friendly for your not so computer techie clients.
