Quick Blurb About Adsense

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

The other day I couldn’t log into my Adsense account because the Adsense site was down. It seems like every time the Adsense site is down, even if it is for a very short time, my earning seem to decrease for 2-3 days afterwards. Is it me? Or do other people experience this same thing?

Random Adsense Sharing Script

Friday, January 12th, 2007

This simple script allows you to share Adsense earnings with other people.  This is great for tag team bloggers who want to share their earnings.  You can add more people to share.  You can also adjust percentages, 40/60, 33/33/33, what ever you want.  We used this script on Webpuffs when Jeff and I tag team posted on this blog.
All you have to do is paste this script right after Google Adsense java script tag in place of your Adsense id.  My brother in law created this script and is allowing me to give it away for free.  Chances are if you have questions about it, I will have to ask him to get the answer so bear with me.  I do not have any gurantees with this script.  It’s free.  You are using it at your own risk.  Hopefully, you find it useful.

var google_ad_client1 = “pub-your adense account number here”;
var google_ad_client2 = “pub-your adsense account number here”;
var random_int = Math.round(100*Math.random()); if(random_int <= 50){ rand_google_ad_client = google_ad_client1; } else { rand_google_ad_client = google_ad_client2; }
google_ad_client = rand_google_ad_client;

My Second Adsense Check

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

Well, I’m finally getting my second Adsense check.  I should be getting it at the end of September.  This site is the only site that I have Adsense ads on.  Before I started this site, I had Adsense up on my product site which had pretty good earnings.  I took the Adsense ads off because I made in some cases 500 times more by selling my products than people clicking on my ads.  It was in my best interest to take the ads down.  I later put the ads up on a template site that I owned.  I didn’t see much from that site.  6 months ago I started this site.  I put Adsense ads up either the day I got the site up or close to it.  This site made $18.42 in July with Adsense and $31.09 so far this month.  It’s not much, but it’s been fun writting articles and watching my earnings go up.

Where Do You Place Your Ads?

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

In my previous article I talked about researching out info on affiliate marketing and Adsense. I found a Word Press Plugin called Adsense Injection. This plugin places your Adsense ads in different spots in your posts to reduce ad blindness. I haven’t been using this plugin long enough yet to see if it has increased ad clicks. I think the concept of the plugin is great. People read from left to right, top to bottom, so theoretically ads closest to the top left should get the most clicks.

I also think it is great to place your ads in your post instead of outside of your posts because people will be forced to read around the ads. They can’t be ignored.

My question to you out there is, where do you place your ads? When you place your ads do you place them with asthetics in mind or click through rates?
